WHY JOIN WFP?
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, and recipient of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize. WFP works to save lives in emergencies and use food and cash assistance to change lives and empower people to meet their essential needs.
WFP is committed to ensuring food assistance is accessible and is delivered safely and with dignity to the right people at the right time through the right way. To achieve this, WFP has an established country office people-centred programme quality (PCPQ) team, which provides strategic direction and technical support to the network of suboffice PCPQ staff.
To ensure WFP programming in Sudan is efficient and effective, WFP seeks a Programme Assistant (PCPQ) to ensure food assistance is accessible, equitable and accountable and is delivered safely and with dignity to the right people at the right time through the right way. This requires supporting the roll-out and implementation of the Unified Case Management system (UCM), which integrates key monitoring and community feedback mechanism (CFM) responsibilities and establishes the necessary systems and processes to manage and take timely corrective action for individual issues.
The Programme Assistant will report to the Programme Associate, responsible for leading the people-centred portolio (protection, including accountability to affected people, gender, conflict sensitivity, and environmental and social safeguards) or as otherwise designated by WFP management in line with evolving organizational structures, and will be supported by country office technical teams.
