HMA Project Officer

Duties and responsibilities: The Duties and responsibilities may include but not limited to: Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Chief of Operations, assist in the further assessment of needs and gaps in the mine action sector in support of HI's mine action strategy and Sudan's Operational Strategy; Ensure the respect of HI's Code of Conduct, HI's Misconduct Reporting Mechanism, HI's Policy on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, HI's Security rules, and other relevant rules and regulations by the members of the team under your coordination. Assist the Chief of Operations and the AVR Specialist in the assessment of needs, feasibility, opportunities and risks of a potential future NTS, clearance, EORE and VA intervention In close collaboration with the Chief of Operations, AVR Specialist and the Area Manager, participate to field external coordination with local authorities and other mine action actors; Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Chief of Operations and the AVR specialist Assist with the project management, planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of HMA activities, including updating the project work plan and monitoring the indicators progress In close collaboration with Chief of Operations and logistics teams, support the coordination and follow up of logistics and procurement requirements of HMA projects. Support with the development of new HMA project proposals Any other responsibilities as required by the Chief of Operations. Collaboration and reporting: You will work in collaboration with the Chief of Operations and the AVR specialist You will take care to apply the following directives in terms of reports and progress reports: Ensure operational reporting internally, to authorities and donors as required. Prepare all relevant reports and documentation in a timely manner, as directed Provide timely and detailed data for the project management Actively participate in base and project coordination mechanisms in a collaborative spirit with other project teams and mission departments (MEAL, etc) Under supervision of the Chief of Operations, represent HI in relevant opportunities, including sector coordination if required; Develop and maintain strong and positive working relationship with National Mine Action Authorities, UNMAS, mine action organizations and other relevant stakeholders; Develop and drive a culture of excellence, continuous improvement and performance optimization across all mine action projects; Prepare weekly/monthly reports to the Chief of Operations on the activities.
